Service Awards and LOSAP

Several state legislatures have established Service Awards and Retirement programs to help benefit volunteer firefighters and retain membership. In order for these programs to be fully implemented, the firefighter's yearly activity, including incident and non-incident attendance, must be tracked. This can become quite complicated. The RedAlert™ Service Awards (LOSAP) Module provides an easy means to track and tally points for Service Awards programs.

The RedAlert™ System provides a means for fire departments to track LOSAP points without having to use a seperate program. The program is based on a Enter Once, Deploy Many pretense. The Service Award module compiles data from the following sources or attendance.

Features

  • State Fire Incident
  • EMS Incident
  • Training Certifications
  • Office and Committee History
  • Years of Service
  • Non Incident Events (Meetings, drills, ect)

Fire Departments calculate awards differently, requiring a system capable of capturing these differences and producing an easy to read report. The RedAlert™ System can be configured to meet the guidelines set forth by your governing jurisdiction. As a user, you need not concern yourself with the number of points a particular member may have already acheived; the system does this automatically for you. You simply take attendance for the various functions which factor into your Service Awards, and the system calculates the number of points based on the maximums and other rules set forth.

Many departments also maintain their own internal point system for memberhsip quota purposes. The RedAlert™ System can also be customized to generate fire department specific quota reports. This report is not an external executable which must be run outside the system. The report appears right within your system, making it easy to access.

Features

  • Calculate current standing from member records.
  • Calculate summary reports for the entire department or for a subset of members.
  • Setup parameters based on your departments by-laws.
  • Handle multi-company fire departments.
  • Base incident response percentages on the firefighter's company total, and or non-company response totals.
  • Take attendance directly from event entry screen. Examples include the ability to take attendance directly from a fire incident. This function will automatically credit that firefighter with one fire incident service award credit. No more double entry.
  • Provide data conversion frmo older service award programs like VFIS's LOSAP program.
  • Handle both service award and non-service award credit. An example could be when a paid employee of the municipality can not be given credot for activities performed during regularly scheduled work periods.
  • Assigns total amount awarded for each category. Categories include training, work details, meetings, drills, terms in office, incidents, standbys, and miscellaneous events.
  • Categories can be customized by the user to fit the specifics of your state's program. Alpine also provides custom work to match your fire department's Award Bylaws exactly.
  • Within a category, assign a point value for each type of event.
  • Change maximum points credited for each category. This is helpful for running "what if" scenarios.
  • Track attendance for situations when a member attended either a company or non-company response.
