Data Conversion from Vernon Prep™

Vernon Software of Vernon, Connecticut developed Prep™ to meet the needs of fire departments requiring an address lookup system. The system utilized address, hydrants and image files to assist departments in keeping contact and preplan information on locations within their fire protection district.

Alpine Software Corporation has developed customized conversion routines to transfer data from the Prep™ system to the RedAlert™ Fire Department Management System. The RedAlert™ Fire Department Management System is a Windows based software product designed for the fire service. It allows for large amounts of customization.

Alpine Software can also customize the RedAlert™ Preplan and Address Module to efficiently utilize your data and display it in a format that your fire personnel are used to.

There are several custom features available as well as these standard features:

  • Online access to hydrant data.
  • Quick access to Site Plans.
  • Custom Rip and Run station printouts.
  • ESRI ArcView Map Interface.
  • Address Status table for tracking malfunctioning alarms, sprinklers out of service, etc.
  • Address Search system works well with intersection and address ranges.
  • Optional dispatch interface to pagers and Zetron Encoders.
  • Allow for the connecting of several site plans to a single address record.
Modules

Alpine has the capability of converting All modules from the Prep™ System. The table below illustrates how data has been converted into the RedAlert™ System.

Address Table Property and Preplan Custom designed address entry form is laid out to utilize all data from the Prep™ system. All data is converted. Departments have not had to reenter any data.
Hydrant Module Hydrant Management All data is converted. Departments have not had to reenter any data.
Site Plan Image Files Site Plan and Document Imaging All image files are utilized and are accessible from the address data.
